We all have someone

The team is coming together, I feel so blessed to be involved with such amazing Women.

" Women", what an interesting word... If you take the letters and switch them you can get, " We now". ~ Women are creatures of action and support. At the mention of the relay team, women raise their hands and say, " Yes! Me! I will join in the walk", followed by, "What can I do to help?".
It humbles me, beyond any feeling I have felt in a while; I am part of a Team that desires to say, " We can do more ".
As we chat, we realize that we all have someone in our lives that have been touched by cancer in some way. Family, Friends, Co-Workers and we are united in knowing the pain and sorrow that follows with the words, " They've found cancer..."
On June 10 2011  @ 7pm we will begin with just one step, side by side, leading out and advocating for those that battle in war with an adversary unseen.  For those that bravely go to their treatments, that shiver and shake as they deal with the poison that courses through their veins; as it seeks out to destroy the very thing, "Cancer".
We walk, because we have Hope. We walk for Love. We walk for those lives touched by Cancer. I believe that the day will come, that if Cancer comes to call, it shall only be a mile to endure and not an insurmountable journey.

We all have someone, who is yours?

Spring has Sprung, looking forward to the sweetness...

I had an amazing privilege of  participating in last years, Relay For Life. I was so touched by the survivors walk, a little boy running ahead of the pack... It struck a chord so deep, words cannot express. As the day continued of lap after lap, music rocking each of our feet along the track, a feeling of pure synergy fell over the mass. We walk in memory of Mothers, Fathers, Sons and Daughters - Friends. We champion the fight of those fighting the good fight and as a unified group we say, " Soon, Cancer will lose every day ". As we lit the luminaries in memory of those who lost their battles, and those that continue to fight, the track was lit all the way around. At about 10pm, we lost power, and it wasn't restored for the remainder of the night... Then, a sight beyond descriptive words; The lights from the luminaries lit the track for us to walk. All those that Cancer had waged war with, their life, was the hope that lit the path for the whole night. The word, " Hope ", was outlined on the hill..., and my heart overflowed.
I had a moment of contemplation one evening as I lay in bed, thinking about that amazing experience and I said to myself, " What can I do? ". Scentsy corporate had a Breast cancer cause warmer, and every dollar of the sales from that warmer went to the Breast Cancer foundation. It was all the inspiration I needed, I needed to organize a Scentsy team. So many people have come to use and love Scentsy in Grande Prairie and area, we, locally, need to give back. We have been given so much, let's advocate those that need more people in their corner.
